LVMH Institut des Métiers d’Excellence

The Institute of Métiers d’Excellence LVMH (IME) is a key element LVMH’s “Métiers d’Excellence” structure, encompassing exceptional creative, craft and retail skills, unified by excellence. LVMH is committed to passing on these skills to new generations, to recognizing their unique contribution within the Group, and to celebrating them. The IME is a vocational training program with a work-study format that enables LVMH to pass on this savoir-faire to young generations, thus enhancing their employability.

LVMH Métiers d'Excellence

“The Institut des Métiers d’Excellence LVMH has met the challenge it took on when the program was launched in 2014, namely to develop the employability of apprentices, regardless of their initial qualifications, while at the same time preserving the unique savoir-faire that is emblematic of LVMH Maisons.”

TRAINING TO PASS ON AND CELEBRATE OUR UNIQUE SAVOIR-FAIRE

Unique in the luxury industry, the LVMH Institut des Métiers d’Excellence is a vocational training program with a work-study format, designed with prestigious schools selected for the quality of their teaching and official recognition of the degrees their students earn.

The IME currently offers 60 different courses in creative, craft and retail professions in France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Japan.

In each training track, students take both technical and theoretical courses at partner schools, combined with on-the-job experience at LVMH Maisons, working under paid apprenticeship contracts.

The IME promotes, passes on and celebrates savoir-faire unique to the luxury industry in craft métiers, as well as sales and creative professions. It enables recruitment and training of young people, including those without prior qualifications or people seeking a new vocation, always remaining fully consistent with our demanding standards. For some young people, the program offers a second chance thanks to a work-study format that provides tuition-free education that is practical and concrete, enabling them to earn vocational certificates or degrees. This training also facilitates recruitment by the LVMH Group, its external partners, or companies seeking qualified staff with the  different specialized skills taught.

TRAINING FOR EVERYONE

Aligned with its policy of supporting equal opportunity, LVMH has set up a vocational training fair called the Village des Métiers d’Excellence LVMH. This outreach event targets young people, job seekers and residents of underserved neighborhoods to inform them about vocational training available via the IME and identify potential candidates for the next school year.

The Village des Métiers d’Excellence is an essential part of the Métiers d’Excellence LVMH structure. It allows young people, people seeking reskilling, as well those who simply would not otherwise have heard about the program or who might think they do not qualify,  to discover the exceptional skills they can learn. Through this approach LVMH helps promote the diversity of backgrounds and cultures at its Maisons and fulfills a role as a responsible employer while ensuring consistency with the Group’s high standards and selection objectives.

The success rate at the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence LVMH was 88% in 2023. On average, 78% of IME apprentices continue their studies or join professions where they apply the skills they have learned, the great majority of them at LVMH Maisons or with one of our external partners.
